Octylphenol Ethoxylate (OPE) is a nonionic surfactant with performance differences across EO grades. Low-EO grades are mainly used for emulsification and oil compatibility, while high-EO grades are more suitable for wetting, cleaning, dispersion, and water-based systems.
Low to medium EO grades, such as OP-4 to OP-7.5, are often evaluated as emulsifiers for mineral oils, paraffin oils, aromatic solvents, and other hydrophobic materials. They can be used in metalworking fluids, agricultural emulsifiable concentrates, and industrial oil-water emulsion systems where emulsification and formulation stability are required.
